Garitano: Eibar ‘lacked patience’

Gaizka Garitano believed his Eibar team lacked patience during the 1-0 defeat to Deportivo la Coruna at Ipurua on Monday night.

An early Juan Dominguez goal settled the issue in favour of the Galicians and Garitano acknowledged the visitors deserved it.

“Depor started the game better but we improved later on, when we dominated the ball, played in their half and worked well, but we lacked patience in the final few metres,” he told reporters after the game.

“We couldn’t score and Deportivo did, so they deserved to win, and that’s the difference between La Primera and La Segunda.

“However, I’m very happy with the attitude shown by my players. They worked very hard but were tired towards the end.

“Except for the beginning of the match we played at a high rhythm for 70 minutes, with crosses and chances,” he maintained.
