Emery: More to come from Sevilla

Unai Emery has said Sevilla are only just getting started after a 2-0 win over Getafe at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Goals from Carlos Bacca, a penalty, and Aleix Vidal gave Los Rojiblancos the win and speaking after the match, Emery praised his side but suggested they could do better.

“The goal was to win but we have great respect for Getafe, who had played good games,” the Coach said, according to AS.

“They key was to play at a high pace, so they wouldn’t feel comfortable, and we did it.

“We had to get on top of Getafe and grow from there. We did it but there’s more to come.

“Keeping a clean sheet is a step forward but we have to be more consistent in the second half.

“This was a game to be patient and there are aspects where we can improve. But we played well and we can keep working.”

Emery also praised rookie goalkeeper Sergio Rico, who deputised for injured pair Beto and Mariano Barbosa.

“There’s always a beginning and Sevilla always looks to the cantera,” he said.

“We have to make sure this isn’t a flash thing. It’s a step further but we have to keep working.”
