Simeone to decide on Oblak start

Diego Simeone is said to be considering giving Jan Oblak his Atletico Madrid debut in the Champions League this week.

Atletico tomorrow meet Olympiakos in Greece and AS report Cholo could change his goalkeeper to give Oblak a run-out.

Oblak was this summer signed from Benfica but an injury in pre-season allowed Miguel Angel Moya – snapped up from Getafe – to impress with the gloves.

Changes to the Atletico team that beat Real Madrid on Saturday are expected, to account for the exertion of winning at Santiago Bernabeu, but Simeone has named the same 20-man squad for the Athens trip.

Simeone is banned from the touchline for the game as a result of his behaviour in the Champions League final defeat to Madrid, so Mono Burgos will oversee the team.

Burgos is in charge in the League too, with Simeone still serving a domestic ban for incidents in the Supercopa de Espana.
