‘If Espanyol beat Valencia…’

Espanyol Coach Sergio insists his side don’t fear Valencia and that if they can beat Los Che, it will be an important moment.

Sergio told his pre-match Press conference that big-spending Valencia will be difficult opposition but a win will put to rest the concern growing around the side.

“Valencia are a team that has been put together with expensive signings,” AS reports Sergio as saying.

“They’ll play 4-3-3 with a great attack and wings, and they have a strong finisher and a good team.

“But we fear nothing. We want to a small step. Each week we’ve been improving and we will compete in this match.

“Valencia will have to be at their best if they want to win.

“The alarm bells are only outside, not inside. We have no doubt the team is following a process. We’re not where we wanted to be but we are calm.

“What matters is the players are working hard. We deserve a win and if we do it will be two steps forward.”
