Athletic Bilbao midfielder Benat Etxebarria maintains Barcelona hold no fear for he and his teammates when the clubs clash on Saturday.

The former Real Betis player, who has been handed the task of filling the role Ander Herrera occupied before his move to Manchester United, will be going all out to break a run of 10 consecutive defeats at the Camp Nou.

“We know what we are capable of and if we play at 100 per cent then we can beat anyone,” said Etxebarria in comments reported by AS.

“Barca have always been difficult to keep off the ball but we’ll try. They don’t feel comfortable when they are not in possession and we’ll do what we can to make it tough for them.

“But Barca are looking good. They’ve brought in a few new players and that has given them a boost.

“However, every season is different and so is every game. Last season we played well and almost snatched a win, although we’ll need to do a bit better this time.”

Etxebarria, 27, admits he is still getting used to this new role at this stage of his career.

“Personally, I’m just getting used to this position, just behind the strikers, but I’m sure I’ll be fine as time goes by, although I’ll still need to work hard at it.

“I need to keep doing well to stay in the side. It’s going to be a long year and I need to cement my place, but I’ll become more confident playing there.

“It’s not a difficult place to play but I just need more games,” he explained.
