De Gea: Casillas has years left

David De Gea has said he doesn’t expect to supplant Iker Casillas in the Spain starting XI on a regular basis any time soon.

De Gea spoke to El Laguero and said that while he would work hard in training to give Vicente Del Bosque a difficult decision, Casillas still has a lot of football ahead of him.

“The Coach is the one who will decide,” AS reports the Manchester United goalkeeper as saying.

“I have to train at my best to make things as good as possible.

“I found out I was going to start against France in the talk before the game. I was a little surprised but I’m happy and calm.

“I don’t think much about [replacing Casillas]. He’s still young for a goalkeeper and he’s got years of football at a good level to come.”
