Leon to join Sevilla?

Getafe could release Pedro Leon so he can join Sevilla as a method of resolving his situation at the club.

Leon hasn’t been included in Getafe’s registered squad as if he was, Getafe would breach the salary cap of €17m imposed by the LFP.

It was reported that Getafe turned down offers over the summer for the winger in the expectation that more lucrative bids would be made.

When they weren’t, Getafe were left with their highest-paid player on their books but no way of playing him without contravening League rules.

Leon has involved the players’ union, the AFE, in order to clarify the standoff and it’s reported in AS that he could sign on with Los Rojiblancos.

The 27-year-old would move to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan until June 2015, getting his €3m-a-year off the books and allowing Leon to play, rather than sit on the sidelines.

He would return to Getafe in the summer and they would then attempt to sell him once more.

Pedro Bravo is acting on Leon’s behalf and has been in touch with Unai Emery’s side, but it’s felt that if the player’s camp pushes his case to the fullest point, he will be released by Getafe with a payoff and free to sign for whoever he wants.

AS add there is a precedent for Leon’s case and it is in the favour of the player.
