Suarez ‘used to the pressure’

Luis Suarez insists he can cope with the pressure of being in the public eye but believes it is more intense as a Barcelona player.

Suarez is banned until late October but has been at both of Barca’s League games so far this season, watching wins over Elche and Villarreal.

“The truth is I’m suffering a lot. I’ve been suspended for many games. You’re powerless to do anything from the outside,” Marca reports the Uruguay international as saying.

“All you have left is talking and shouting.”

Suarez added that he will be cautious when he returns to action as he will be under greater scrutiny now he is a Barca player, having been banned for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

“I’m calm in this regard as I played in England and have already been through that,” the former Liverpool forward continued.

“I get used to this kind of pressure. Pressure, but not with that many eyes watching you.

“I’ll get used to more now. This time, being at the biggest team in the world, there will be even more eyes than before.

“After everything that happened, even more. So I have to be wary of these things and take responsibility and be smart in this regard.

“[I’m happy I can train] as I’m able to tell my children that I go to work. I’m content as a footballer.”
