Leon letting AFE deal with Getafe

Pedro Leon has entrusted the players’ union, the AFE, to handle his situation with Getafe, while questioning the club’s President.

Getafe haven’t been able to register the winger in their squad as to do so would take the club over the wage cap instituted by the LFP.

Leon is the club’s highest-paid player and Getafe turned down offers for his services over the summer, expecting improved bids to follow, but when they didn’t, Leon was forced onto the sidelines.

President Angel Torres however laid the blame at Leon’s feet and insisted Getafe won’t struggle without him.

“Everything is in the hands of the AFE as I have full confidence in them,” AS reports Leon as saying at a Press conference.

“As for what the President said, ask the Spanish and German clubs who wanted to sign me if he was telling the truth.”

AS add that Getafe are down to 20 players in their squad due to the Leon situation and confusion over the signing of Abdoul Karim Yoda, with former club Astra claiming they have a contract for the midfielder.
