Zubi: Alves contract ends in 2015

Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has denied there are any clauses that will keep Dani Alves at the club past next year.

Zubi was speaking at a Press conference to discuss Barcelona’s transfer window and also touched on the status of a number of players.

“We’re delighted Dani Alves is here and the performances he is giving,” he said of the full-back, according to Marca.

“His contract ends in 2015. There’s no tension. He has character and sometimes you disagree with him.

“There are no clauses about games played in his contract. It ends in 2015.

“Cesc Fabregas has been treated in the best of conditions. I wish him the best performances at his new club.

“The home-grown players are there and we are prepared to give them a chance, like Sandro and Munir, and Halilovic and Adama.”

Zubi was also asked about a report that claimed Neymar was fined for signing an autograph while warming up against Villarreal.

“We have no problem with Neymar. His talent is beyond question,” Zubi’s reply began.

“Other issues, sanctions, are managed in the locker room and sanctions stay in the locker room.”

He also responded coldly to a question about the transfer policy of Real Madrid after the departures of Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria.

“Di Maria and Alonso? That would be a great question to ask when Real Madrid hold a Press conference on the transfer window,” he replied.
