Andoni Zubizarreta has suggested Barcelona didn’t need a major overhaul this summer as they were almost crowned champions.
The sporting director added that if Lionel Messi’s goal against Atletico Madrid on the final weekend of the season had been given, rather than flagged for offside, it would have been Barca celebrating.
“Last season is something that can’t be changed,” he told reporters, according to Marca.
“We were one goal away from winning the League, one goal from winning the Copa.
“Perhaps we scored the goal to win the League but…I’ll leave it there.
“Backward analysis is difficult to do. It’s better to look ahead.”
