Berizzo rues bad second half

Celta Vigo Coach Toto Berizzo believes his side had a good first half against Cordoba but didn’t keep it up for 90 minutes.

The fixture finished 1-1 despite Celta taking the lead, Fede pegging back Fabian Orellana’s second half opener.

Speaking to reporters after the match, it was events after the break that Berizzo bemoaned..

“We played very well in the first half but without taking the chances created to make it a good game,” Marca reports the Coach as saying.

“We lost control of the game after Cordoba scored. The last 15 minutes was more normal and we created chances then.

“We were worthy of a point, but I’m not objective. If we had kept it at 1-0 for longer we could have killed the counter-attack, which was a must.

“Our goal didn’t come at the best time. We retreated and Cordoba grew and found the equaliser. We must review what happened in those minutes.”
