Pellegrini: No big offer for Negredo

Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Manchester City have not received any ‘big offers’ for Alvaro Negredo.

The former Sevilla striker was rumoured to be of interest to Real Madrid in reports that emerged on Friday.

However, the Chilean tactician has insisted that despite the Spain international being ‘fourth choice’ his side are looking to keep the goalscorer.

“In this moment Alvaro Negredo is part of our squad, we are not trying to sell him, and nobody has made a big offer,” he is quoted as saying by Manchester Evening News.

“One month ago maybe some Spanish clubs had some interest him but that was one month ago.

“Alvaro is fourth choice now because he is injured but he’s still part of the squad.

“Last year he was first choice and after that he had an injury in his shoulder and was not playing so well but he’s always a very important player for our club so we don’t want to sell him.

“For the moment there is no news about Negredo because we haven’t received any offers for players.”
