New faces in Spain squad

Vicente Del Bosque has called up a host of new faces to the Spain squad to play France and Macedonia.

Among the players included are Espanyol goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, Athletic Bilbao’s Mikel San Jose and Ander Iturraspe and Valencia’s Paco Alcacer.

Old hands Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas, David Silva and Andres Iniesta are also named, as is Diego Costa, despite concerns from Chelsea over his hamstring injury, but there is no place for Gerard Pique.

La Roja first play France in a friendly on September 4, then meet Macedonia in their first Euro 2016 qualifier on September 8.

Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Juanfran, Sergio Ramos, Mikel San Jose, Raul Albiol, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba, Cesar Azpilicueta

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Santi Cazorla, Cesc Fabregas, Ander Iturraspe, Pedro, Isco, David Silva, Andres Iniesta, Koke, Raul Garcia

Forwards: Diego Costa, Paco Alcacer
