Dunga ‘wants the Santos Neymar’

Brazil Coach Dunga wants to see the Neymar of Santos playing for the national team, not the version who turns out for Barcelona.

Dunga returned to the Brazil dugout following the country’s World Cup humiliation, having previously been in charge of the South Americans at World Cup 2010.

“I want Neymar the same as he was in Santos,” AS reports the 1994 World Cup winner as saying.

“Spontaneous, creative, a decisive player…a reference point without losing the joy.”

Dunga added that he doesn’t expect Neymar to pull out of the squad to play the United States and Colombia despite struggling with a sprained ankle.

He also called on the squad as a whole to show the supporters how much it means to them to play for their country after the World Cup on home soil ended in disappointment.

“The players and I want to show the fans how important it is to be in the national team and display competitive football,” he confirmed.

“I know it will be difficult but we will recover.”
