Barca offer Munir new deal

Barcelona have begun talks with the agent of Munir El Haddadi over renewing the teenager’s contract after his goal scoring debut.

Munir netted the third goal in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Elche, scoring on his debut for the senior team, and is to be rewarded with a new deal reflecting his status at the club.

Mundo Deportivo report sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta on Tuesday informed Munir he would be offered fresh terms and was going to be speaking with his agent.

That call has already taken place, MD believe, and a meeting has been arranged for next month, after Zubi has been on holiday.

Munir signed a contract in January, with the terms of the contract calling for a €12m release clause and a salary of between €120,000 and €150,000 in the first year.

His first team contract will see the clause automatically raised to €35m and Barca want to activate the higher fee to protect the starlet from outside suitors.

They also feel Munir deserves recognition for his development and the 18-year-old can expect a significant pay increase, MD confirm.
