Marcelino calls for focus

Villarreal Coach Marcelino wants his side to concentrate on the second leg of their Europa League tie with Astana.

The Yellow Submarine have a 3-0 lead from the first leg, played in Kazakhstan, but Marcelino has told reporters it’s vital to treat the game as seriously as ever.

“Players should be ambitious, they must want to win and prove they are better, so we can’t think of the result in the away game,” AS reports him as saying.

“We don’t face any match with a relaxed mind. We have had a good first game but to go through we need two good games.

“We believe that can happen and we don’t want to approach the game with overconfidence.

“Many things can happen in matches, you can concede a goal or have someone sent off and everything is complicated, so we shouldn’t think of the last game.

“We want to forget the previous game and play with the utmost respect for our opponent and the idea that we must face this match again.”
