Arbeloa ‘wants to leave Madrid’

Alvaro Arbeloa is said to be unhappy at Real Madrid and hopeful of leaving the club before the close of the transfer window.

AS report that Arbeloa feels he has lost the confidence of Carlo Ancelotti, particularly after he was substituted in the League opener against Cordoba on Monday.

Arbeloa was also whistled by the Santiago Bernabeu crowd as he was replaced by Dani Carvajal and has grown disillusioned with his situation in the capital.

There are two clubs mooted as potential destinations - Chelsea, where Arbeloa would be reunited with Jose Mourinho, who he was close to when playing under the Portuguese at Madrid, and Napoli.

A move to Napoli would see a reunion with Rafael Benitez, who signed Arbeloa for Liverpool.
