Madrid step up Falcao chase – report

It’s been claimed in France and Spain that Real Madrid have returned to the pursuit of Monaco striker Radamel Falcao now Angel Di Maria has been sold.

Di Maria was last night confirmed as a Manchester United player in a British record transfer move and both AS and Mundo Deportivo cite reports from France that say Falcao is again on Madrid’s agenda.

That’s despite Coach Carlo Ancelotti not looking for further additions to his squad, but Madrid could sign an attacking player regardless.

MD claim Marco Reus is ahead of Falcao in Madrid’s wanted list but French publication Le Sport say a €60m move for Falcao is in the offing.

AS add that a loan approach could be made for the former Atletico Madrid striker, with Madrid paying €12.5m up front and retaining a €45m option.

It’s also claimed that there has been a meeting between the involved parties over the transfer and that Florentino Perez and his Monaco counterpart could talk at tomorrow’s UEFA gala in Monte Carlo.
