Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu believes Lionel Messi’s two-goal display against Elche is evidence he remains the world’s best player.
Messi scored either side of a debut strike from Munir El Haddadi and speaking to reporters after the match, Bartomeu praised both forwards.
“Messi has proven once again he is the best player in the world. I’d never hesitate,” Mundo Deportivo reports the President as saying.
“Munir wasn’t so well known. He scored many goals in pre-season. He scored a perfect goal but let us not forget he came from Barca B.
“Seeing how he has done no doubt Luis Enrique will be using him more.
“Everyone is important in this team. Everyone will play. We aspire to be the best in all competitions and everyone will play.”
