Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Angel Di Maria is bound for the Real Madrid exit amid reports of an agreement with Manchester United.
The British Press say the fee for Di Maria is £69.3m, some €80m. It would be a British record transfer, should the deal go through.
Marca meanwhile put the fee at €75m with a further €15m of potential add-ons.
“He hasn’t trained. [The transfer] isn’t official yet but it’s close,” Ancelotti said at a Press conference, according to AS.
“I thank him for what he has done for this club. I’ve had a personal relationship with Di Maria and he has done a fantastic job.
“It was his decision. The club wanted him to stay. Good luck to him.”
Ancelotti also offered an update on the status of Sami Khedira, who is said to be willing to see out the final year of his Madrid contract and leave for free next summer.
“Khedira is staying and he’s happy. He’s very important to this team,” the Coach added.
