‘Ronaldo & Ramos want Di Maria stay’

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have asked Florentino Perez to keep Angel Di Maria at Real Madrid, reports in Spain claim.

Marca say that the reception Di Maria received from the Santiago Bernabeu crowd when he was introduced during the second half of the Supercopa de Espana first leg against Atletico Madrid was a sign the fans want him to remain at the club.

And Ramos and Ronaldo are said to have spoken with Perez about the Argentina international, who is also wanted by Coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Di Maria is understood to want to leave as he doesn’t feel valued by Madrid, having turned down the club’s offer of a new contract.

He is said to want €9m-a-season, more than the €8m offered by Paris Saint-Germain, but PSG are struggling to meet Madrid’s €75m price tag.

Madrid argue they have improved Di Maria’s contract twice in three years and don’t want to do it again so soon.

But the players are thought to be concerned that Di Maria’s exit would harm the team after he became an important part of Ancelotti’s tactics in last year’s Champions League-winning season.

Ronaldo and Ramos are understood to have spoken with the President both as leaders of the team and also close allies of Perez.
