Valencia ‘considering Negredo’

Valencia have put Spain international Alvaro Negredo on their shortlist as they continue looking for a new striker.

Sport report Porto’s Colombia forward Jackson Martinez and Juventus’ former Athletic Bilbao man Fernando Llorente are also names under discussion.

Negredo is currently recovering from a fractured foot and that could lead Los Che to dismiss the ex-Sevilla striker but Manchester City are thought to have lost confidence in him and may be open to a deal.

Valencia are said to be looking for a physical, target-man style striker, with Negredo and Llorente fitting the bill.

A €10m offer was made to Juventus for Llorente and Juventus are understood to be open to the idea of Llorente leaving before the close of the transfer window.

Martinez, meanwhile, would cost somewhere close to €40m, likely ruling him out of Valencia’s price range.

It’s also claimed that Real Madrid considered a move for Negredo when Alvaro Morata left the club – for Juventus – but eventually decided against it.
