Marcelino has said the excitement at returning to European football is such at Villarreal that the side have to beat Astana.
The Kazakhstan side stand in the way of the Yellow Submarine and a place in the Europa League group stage, with the first leg to come tonight in Kazakhstan.
Speaking at a pre-match Press conference, Marcelino admitted to knowing little about the opposition and warned it might not be a walkover.
“There’s a lot of hope in the team and the club, so we are required to go through,” Marca reports the Coach as saying.
“They are more competitive because they are in full competition and that is in their favour because this is our first official meeting.
“They’re a very physical opponent but we’re only thinking about winning and going through to the group stage.”
