Ronaldo a doubt for Supercopa

Cristiano Ronaldo may not be fit to play in Friday’s Supercopa second leg against Atletico Madrid at Vicente Calderon.

The Portugal forward was withdrawn at half-time of the first meeting between Real Madrid and the League champions, replaced by summer signing James Rodriguez.

James went on to open the scoring in the tie, only for Raul Garcia to level before the final whistle to set up tomorrow’s decider.

AS reports that it is thought Ronaldo has strained his hamstring and it is feared the injury comes as a result of the tendonitis with which he suffered last season.

Madrid are said to be treating Ronaldo carefully so as not to exacerbate any injury but it remains doubtful if he will be ready to line up against Atletico.
