Report: Ronaldo suffers leg injury

Cristiano Ronaldo may have been replaced at half-time of Real Madrid’s Supercopa de Espana draw with Atletico Madrid due to a leg injury.

AS cites a report from Carrusel Deportivo that says Madrid revealed the forward was withdrawn due to discomfort in his left leg.

Ronaldo was replaced by James Rodriguez, who opened the scoring in the tie, only for Raul Garcia to equalise before the final whistle.

Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti said at his post-match Press conference that while Madrid are waiting on a diagnosis of Ronaldo, he doesn’t expect there to be a significant problem.

“He over-stretched and at half-time was uncomfortable,” AS reports Ancelotti as saying.

“We will see tomorrow but it’s nothing serious.”
