Cerci denies Atleti tweet

Alessio Cerci has insisted that his Twitter account was hacked after it appeared that he was on the verge of signing for Atletico Madrid.

The Torino winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital in recent weeks, and a tweet last night seemed to confirm that a deal had been agreed.

“Agreement reached, thank you [to] Torino and its fans for everything,” it said on his official account on Monday evening.

However, two minutes after it was posted, the tweet was deleted.

Cerci then told Sky Sport Italia that his account must have been hacked.

“I have not written and not deleted the tweet, I'm playing video games with [Ruben] Perez [fellow Torino star on loan from Atletico].

“Atletico? Nice, but I'm a player of Torino. We will see.”
