Neymar & Xavi fit for Gamper Trophy

Barcelona pair Neymar and Xavi Hernandez have been passed fit to play in tonight’s Joan Gamper Trophy against Leon.

Sport reports the Brazil forward and the Spain midfielder have been given the all-clear following a fractured back and a calf injury respectively.

Neymar suffered his injury in the World Cup win over Colombia and hasn’t played since, while Xavi started Barca’s pre-season before injury forced him to the sidelines.

Xavi has been able to return to training in recent days and is said to be working at the same pace as the rest of the squad.

The game, in honour of former Barca and Leon defender Rafael Marquez, is expected to be the first Barca appearance of Luis Suarez following his move from Liverpool after the Court of Arbitration for Sport declared he is available for friendly matches despite his four-month biting ban.
