Iker Casillas is expected to be handed the gloves for the first leg of the Supercopa de Espana between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
AS reports that while Coach Carlo Ancelotti said after Saturday’s friendly against Fiorentina that he hadn’t chosen between Casillas or Keylor Navas, the captain is ahead of the new signing.
It is Casillas’ performance in the European Super Cup win over Sevilla that counts mostly in his favour, AS say, with the suggestion that the departure of Diego Lopez has allowed Casillas to play without pressure.
Navas impressed in Warsaw against the Viola but is expected to be on the bench for the first game against the champions, yet could get the nod for Friday’s second leg at Vicente Calderon.
