Madrid quartet train apart

Cristiano Ronaldo was one of four senior Real Madrid players to train away from the rest of the squad ahead of the Supercopa de Espana first leg.

Marca reports that Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria weren’t part of Sunday’s group session following the friendly against Fiorentina in Warsaw on Saturday.

Isco was however involved, shortly after becoming a father for the first time. The midfielder was left out of the trip to Poland because of the new arrival.

Ronaldo, Varane, Benzema, Di Maria and Jese worked away from the main group of 18 players, inside the club’s training facility, rather than on the field under the supervision of Carlo Ancelotti.

Madrid have another training session today, with the first leg of the Super Cup against Atletico Madrid to come on Tuesday evening at Santiago Bernabeu.
