Coach backs Deulofeu to succeed

Spanish youth team Coach Ginez Melendez has backed Gerard Deulofeu to succeed at Barcelona.

The young striker has been sent out on loan by the Blaugrana for a second successive season – going to Sevilla for the upcoming campaign.

And the coaching co-ordinator, who oversees all the individual age groups of Spanish football, has insisted that the Masia graduate will be a first team star.

“Gerard is kid with great human and sporting attributes. He's got what hardly anyone has, which is skill, pace and goals,” he is quoted as saying by Marca.

“He's a winner, but he has plenty of things to improve on. He's already been playing at a high level, as he's always been two years ahead of his age. He's a great kid and a fantastic person.”
