Spain international Javi Martinez will tomorrow undergo an operation in the United States after it was confirmed he has torn his cruciate ligaments.
The Bayern Munich midfielder-defender was injured during his club’s German Super Cup defeat to Borussia Dortmund and said he feared the worst.
It’s now been confirmed by Bayern that Martinez will go under the knife and while no time frame is set for a recovery, the phrase ‘several months’ has been used to describe the period Martinez faces on the sidelines.
