United States international Fabian Johnson is a surprise name on Barcelona’s right-back shortlist, reports in Spain say.
Johnson has this summer moved as a free agent from Hoffenheim to Gladbach but AS claim the Bundesliga club could be willing to cash in should Barca come calling.
The 26-year-old was born in Germany and so wouldn’t take up a non-EU spot in Barca’s squad.
Barca have broadened their search for a right-back after being priced out of the market for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado.
The likes of Kyle Walker of Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund’s Lukasz Piszczek are also under consideration, it’s said.
