Gareth Bale has admitted that it’s ‘great to be back home’ as Real Madrid take on Sevilla in Cardiff.

The Champions League winners take on the Europa League champions in the European Super Cup tonight.

And the Wales international has claimed that he is focused on winning the trophy, not being the next Blancos superstar.

“It's great to be back home but the most important thing is to win the game and the cup,” he told reporters.

“We need to focus on that and not on me playing in my hometown.

“The most important thing is to win the Super Cup and it doesn't matter who scores the winning goal.

“It's nice not to be the new kid. It's great to be starting the season and to be settled in, it's much better from my point of view.

“We want to win every competition we are in, it doesn't matter who we are playing. We will try to win everything.

“It's a lot easier having a proper preseason under your belt rather than waiting for a transfer to go through.

“I feel in better shape and can start the season at a better rhythm.

“I don't feel any pressure by being back home, it's another game and another one I have to put 110 percent into to perform at my best.”
