Sergi Roberto could leave Barcelona on loan after being squeezed out of the side by Xavi Hernandez’s decision to stay.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Sergi was to be part of the first team squad, fighting for a place in the first team, when it appeared Xavi would quit Camp Nou.
But the veteran is instead staying and that means Sergi’s playing time will be limited, much as it was last season.
In an effort to avoid a repeat Barca are willing to let Sergi go to another La Liga club, where he can get regular games and develop as a player in the way Rafinha did at Celta Vigo.
Luis Enrique is a fan of the midfielder and wants to avoid Sergi stagnating on the sidelines of the first team.
