Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen on a five-year contract.
No fee is mentioned in the statement on the club's official site but Press reports had claimed the Catalans were to pay in the region of €19m for the 28-year-old.
Vermaelen joined Arsenal from Ajax in 2009 and made more than 150 appearances for the Gunners, captaining the side to victory in the FA Cup last season.
He has 46 caps for his country and featured at the World Cup this summer as Belgium reached the quarter-finals.
