Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti is taking next week’s European Super Cup tie against Sevilla very seriously.
Ancelotti has given an interview to UEFA in which he reflected on winning the Champions League and looked ahead to next season’s competition.
The Italian stressed however that he wasn’t looking past the Super Cup, a competition on which he places a great deal of importance.
“It’s an important game because it’s the end of an international competition,” Ancelotti insisted, according to Mundo Deportivo.
“As in the other final it will be very difficult but we may be favourites as Real Madrid.
“Sevilla are a team who had a good season. They won the Europa League with a group of players who worked well and deserved the trophy.
“Sevilla have changed a bit this year. In some respects they are an unknown team at this time because they have lost some important players and have gotten others. We’ll see what happens.”
