Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser al-Khelaifi has said Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria is ‘too expensive.’
Al-Khelaifi was speaking as PSG presented David Luiz and when questioned about the cost of the Brazil international, drew a comparison with the proposed move for Di Maria.
“I don’t think David is too expensive. Many other big clubs wanted him,” L’Equipe reports al-Khelaifi as saying.
“For Di Maria, it’s true we have discussed him with [Florentino Perez]. But he was too expensive. We stopped the discussions.”
Past reports had claimed PSG were to pay something in the region of €75m for the Argentina international, with the only hold up said to be PSG’s need to conform with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
