Real Madrid could move for Luiz Gustavo to replace Sami Khedira should the Germany international leave this summer.
AS reports that with Khedira’s contract entering its final 12 months and the midfielder unhappy at a lack of playing time he could be sold so Madrid benefit from his exit.
Carlo Ancelotti is said to be a fan of Khedira but can’t guarantee him game time, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich thought to be monitoring the situation.
Madrid have begun looking for alternatives and top of the list is Brazil international Gustavo, now with Wolfsburg and formerly of Bayern.
Los Blancos have tried to renew Khedira’s contract but the player’s camp has thus far been unwilling, leading Madrid to believe he has already reached an agreement with a club to move on a free transfer in 2015.
