Atletico Madrid have confirmed a deal to sign full-back Cristian Ansaldi from Zenit St. Petersburg.
A statement on the champions’ official website says Ansaldi will join on loan for a season and has completed a medical.
Marca add that Ansaldi will be used as cover on both sides of the defence and quote the club’s sporting director, Jose Caminero, as welcoming the signing.
“Ansaldi is a player who will help us increase competitiveness in the group,” Caminero said.
“He is a full-back who can play on both sides with a strong defensive level and help in attack. He brings us a lot with his versatility and we are pleased with this agreement.”
