Madrid to ‘force Lopez out’

Real Madrid have made a decision on the futures of Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez and will push Lopez out, reports in Spain claim.

The imminent signing of Keylor Navas has led to the Madrid hierarchy choosing between the two incumbent goalkeepers, AS claims, with Casillas to stay and Lopez free to leave.

A move to the likes of Monaco or Napoli has been mooted and Lopez could even be granted a free transfer in an effort to resolve the situation.

Should Lopez be released he would be due a €12m pay-off on his three-year contract, but that is still cheaper than paying off Casillas.

AS add that the atmosphere around the squad is strained but Lopez has come to the opinion that if he’s really not wanted by Los Blancos, despite starting most of last season’s League games, he’ll go.
