Arrasate: La Real aren’t 100%

Jagoba Arrasate has admitted Real Sociedad aren’t yet at their best ahead of the Europa League tie with Aberdeen.

La Real meet the Dons tonight in a Europa League play-off and Arrasate told a pre-match Press conference that while his side will make a game of it, they won’t be playing at their maximum.

“It’s true that we’re not 100% but we are ready to compete. I know we can win the tie. We’ll see what level we are, but I see the team in good condition to go through,” AS reports the Coach as saying.

“It’s true that there are two players who are no longer here [Claudio Bravo and Antoine Griezmann]. But there are skilled people and a competitive enough team to cope with this tie.

“We started against a hard opponent who has already played two matches in this competition. They’re a typical Scottish team – competitive, solid and they manage the game well.

“There are phases they control the ball and move the opponent around and can play with five defenders. That is a danger of theirs.

“The goal is to win, first, and if we win by more than one goal, fine. We want to win to go there with the advantage.

“We know it won’t be easy to win, much less thrash them. But the pressure on us is fair and we have a responsibility.”
