Clattenburg to ref Super Cup

English referee Mark Clattenburg will take charge of the European Super Cup fixture between Real Madrid and Sevilla.

The match between the Champions League and Europa League winners takes place in Cardiff on August 12 and UEFA have confirmed Clattenburg will take the whistle.

The 39-year-old has been an international referee since 2006 and took charge of Madrid’s quarter-final first leg game against Borussia Dortmund, Los Blancos winning 3-0.

Clattenburg will be joined by an all-English team of officials, including assistants Simon Beck and Stuart Burt.
