‘Madrid have the best in the world’

Real Madrid youngster Marcos Llorente believes simply training with the club’s stars will help him improve as a player.

Llorente, a 19-year-old cantera product, has been with the Madrid first team during the pre-season tour of the United States and is said to have caught the eye of Carlo Ancelotti.

Normally considered a midfielder, AS reports Llorente has done well at left-back – to the Coach’s surprise – and Llorente says he is enjoying his taste of the senior side.

“The Coach told me to keep calm and do what I do and what I normally do for my team,” Llorente said.

“We [Llorente and his fellow youngsters on the tour] working hard and improving. We’re learning a lot because these players are the best in the world. Training with them is the best way to learn.”

Llorente’s father Paco played more than 100 games for Madrid in the late 1980s and early 1990s, while he is also related to the legendary Paco Gento.
