Reports in Spain say Antoine Griezmann’s move from Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid has essentially been completed.
Marca claim Atleti and La Real came to terms last night and the France international is today an Atletico player, moving for a fee of €30m.
The 23-year-old caught the eye while playing for France at the World Cup and comes off the back of a successful League season.
Griezmann will join Mario Mandzukic, Guilherme Siqueira and Jan Oblak as the champions’ new signings.
AS add that Atletico have met Griezmann’s release clause but don’t have to pay the associated taxes as La Real are agreeing to sell.
Griezmann is said to have had offers from Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco but told his club he wanted to move to Vicente Calderon.
Atletico will make a good offer to Griezmann and Coach Diego Simeone is said to see Griezmann as in important player for the new campaign.
