‘Arsenal have Casillas agreement’

Reports in Spain claim Arsenal have reached an agreement with Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, although not with his club.

Sport say the Gunners have offered Casillas a five-year contract worth €9m-per-season but will only execute the deal if Madrid grant Casillas a free transfer.

It’s claimed that Casillas previously extracted a promise from President Florentino Perez that he would be allowed to leave the club for free when the time came.

Madrid are expected to sign Levante’s Keylor Navas, giving them three senior goalkeepers – Casillas, Navas and Diego Lopez.

Lopez took the gloves in the League last season with Casillas keeping goal for the Copa del Rey and Champions League, competitions won by Los Blancos.

Sport add that Madrid could be willing to let Casillas go to Arsenal as they’re not a direct domestic rival and will facilitate his departure this summer.
