Kroos: Madrid the biggest challenge

Toni Kroos has said representing Real Madrid is the biggest challenge in football that any player can face.

Kroos recently completed his move to Los Blancos from Bayern Munich, the transfer confirmed shortly after Germany won the World Cup.

AS reports Kroos telling the official website of the German federation that he is excited at the prospect of representing Madrid and lining up with his new teammates.

“Real Madrid is the biggest challenge. The club is known throughout the world. I’ve received many compliments for the transfer,” he said.

“I’m happy to play with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos or my national team colleague Sami Khedira.

“With Bayern I achieved the double after winning the treble. As a player you are never satisfied and you want to win every trophy.”

Kroos added that he was thinking of staying with Bayern but when agreeing a new contract proved difficult, he felt it was time to move on.

“Bayern was always my first choice so I discarded contact with other teams. But when we didn’t reach an agreement and some of the best clubs in the world approached, I decided to try something new,” he said.
