Herrera ‘excited’ for Old Trafford debut

Ander Herrera has admitted he can’t wait to make his Manchester United debut after completing a ‘dream move’ from Athletic Bilbao.

The 24-year-old moved from Los Leones to the Premier League outfit for €40m earlier this month.

And the youngster has insisted he is excited to be representing the Red Devils, and is looking forward to stepping out at Old Trafford.

“I am very excited to play at Old Trafford,” he told MUTV.

“I played one time here for [Athletic] Bilbao and I have good memories of this game [Athletic won 3-2 in the Europa League] – you could say I have a 100 per cent record here!

“My first game [at home] will be against a Spanish club which is special and I'm sure it will be a special day. I can't wait.

“I am very happy and really enjoying being at the club and in the city. The first couple of weeks here have been great.

“Training has been good, similar to at [Athletic] Bilbao in that we train a lot with the ball. The coaches want us to have the ball and keep possession which is great for the players.

“Juan [Mata] and David [De Gea] told me United is a big club, maybe the biggest in the world and they said there is a great spirit here. I have [already] seen that. I am happy and just want to start playing now.”
