Potential Atletico Madrid signing Angel Correa is to miss six months after a tumour in his heart was discovered.
Marca reports that an issue with the forward’s heart was flagged up during the medical for his move from San Lorenzo to Atletico and he underwent surgery in New York.
It’s now been confirmed that a tumour was found in a ventricle and he will need six months to recover. The original timeframe was said to be six weeks.
Atletico and San Lorenzo have frozen the 19-year-old’s transfer and will respect the terms of the deal once he is fully fit.
The news comes at the same time it was revealed Barcelona full-back Adriano has a heart issue and will miss a minimum of a month.
