Levante: No Navas deal yet

Levante President Quico Catalan has confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in Keylor Navas but stresses a deal is not yet completed.

AS report that Madrid haven’t trigged Navas’ €10m release clause but will instead negotiate with Levante to pay a fee somewhere in the region of that figure.

Catalan spoke to AS about Navas’ future, offering only a brief comment on the status of the Costa Rica international.

“Madrid spoke with us and the deal is still not closed, but certainly in the end Keylor will fulfil his dream,” Catalan is quoted as saying.

AS add that Madrid’s move for Navas didn’t begin until the start of this week, when they made initial contact with Levante in an effort to ward off interest from Bayern Munich.

Porto and Benfica were also lurking but once Madrid made their interest known, Navas wanted to move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Navas’ agent has confirmed he will speak with representatives from Madrid, although he hasn’t yet.
